MEDICAL CODER

Introduction: Northwest Clinic, a leading healthcare provider in Dubai, is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Medical Coder to join our team. The Medical Coder will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding of medical procedures and diagnoses, which is essential for effective billing, compliance, and data management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Coding:
    • Review and analyze patient medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
    • Ensure coding accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory standards.
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure proper coding.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other confidentiality and privacy regulations.
    • Assist with internal and external audits to ensure coding accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Billing and Reimbursement:
    • Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Follow up on denied or rejected claims and work with insurance companies to resolve issues and ensure timely reimbursement.
    • Provide coding-related support to billing and revenue cycle management teams.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Generate and analyze coding reports to monitor accuracy and identify trends or areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to review coding practices and implement improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Certification as a Medical Coder (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent) from a recognized certification body.
  • Experience: Proven experience in medical coding within a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in medical coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
    • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare regulations.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with healthcare providers.
